Now is the best time to quit

Stopping smoking is one of the best things we can do to improve our health.

When we stop, we give our lungs the chance to function better and improve our breathing.

It's never too late to quit - we are helping people to succeed.

We will help you succeed

There are two main ways to try quitting smoking.

One way is to stop completely. You set a quit date and stop altogether on this date.

The other way is to cut down. You set your quit date and then reduce the amount you smoke gradually until this date, and then you stop completely. Or you might reduce now and set a quit date when you feel more ready.

Whatever option you choose, we can help you. Here's how...

Stop completely with a Health Coach

We are up to three times more likely to succeed with specialist support.

You can join six sessions with an expert Health Coach in Leeds. They will use the latest, evidenced-based behavioural change support and medication to help you.

Your six sessions can be one-to-one or as part of a group of other people working towards the same goal.

As well as your support sessions, our service includes:

  • Carbon Monoxide (CO) breath tests to track the progress you are making
  • A course of free e-cigarette supplies
  • A course of free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) supplies
  • Access to support communities and regular check-ins to keep you going

Stop completely by yourself

Some people have success going it alone or with light-touch support.

We have free resources available to support your attempt. These have been developed to provide you with the most recent expert advice and guidance. They can give you the best chance of succeeding alone.

Even though you might choose to go it alone, one of our Health Coaches can still arrange to check-in and see how you are getting on.

Our service includes:

  • Free support resources full of expert advice and guidance
  • Two free check-in sessions with a Health Coach
  • Access to online community support and apps
  • Regular check-ins for up to a year after your quit date to help you keep going

Stop completely with a group

Attending a group session can be motivating and rewarding, the support of others who are also quitting smoking with you means that you won’t feel on your own.

You will join a ‘starting out’ session which includes an introduction to the group programme. This is followed by 6 group sessions, which focus on a key topic each week. At the end of each session you will have the opportunity for a confidential 1:1 conversation with a coach to discuss treatment options.

As well as your support sessions, our service includes:

  • Free support resources full of expert advice and guidance
  • More time with a coach than a 1:1 appointment
